Correction Officer Arrested In Assault Of Inmate At Green Haven: NYSP
The 43-year-old was indicted by a grand jury for felony second-degree assault in January, and turned himself in last week, police said.
DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — A prison guard has been arrested in connection to an assault on an inmate.
The New York State Police says that its Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Poughkeepsie arrested 43-year-old Calvin R. Morges, of Fishkill, after a Dutchess County grand jury indictment in January for felony second-degree asssault.
State police say the investigation started in April 2024, after the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision's Office of Special Investigations reported that an incarcerated person at the Green Haven Correctional Facility had been hospitalized with serious injuries after a suspected assault by Morges, who was a correction officer.

On March 19, Morges turned himself in to the New York State Police. He was processed and released until further court proceedings.
