33 Injured In Factory Explosion Monday In New Windsor: UPDATE

The injured include seven firefighters.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — Dozens of people were injured Monday in an explosion at a New Windsor cosmetics factory. The explosion occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Verla International.

According to the Orange County executive’s office, 33 people, including seven firefighters, were injured, with one firefighter suffering significant facial burns, News 12 said.

No cause has yet been determined.

The Times Herald-Record said a second explosion happened inside the factory at 10:40 a.m., after employees had left the building.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — Several fire departments have responded to a fire and explosions at a New Windsor cosmetics factory Monday.

Located on Temple Hill Road, the Verla International factory makes nail polish, perfumes and other products, recordline.com said.
