RED HOOK, NY — A Columbia County woman was in the wrong place at the wrong time when a cow decided to cross the road in Red Hook.
The Red Hook Police Department said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
A 2005 Dodge was being driven north on North Broadway in the village of Red Hook by a 64-year-old woman from Livingston.

A cow walked onto the roadway and the woman's car struck the animal head-on, police said.
The collision caused extensive damage to the car, as well as a minor injury to the driver.

Police said the cow survived the crash and fled from the area.
The animal's owner was notified, authorities said.
Red Hook police were assisted by the Red Hook Fire Company and Northern Dutchess Paramedics.
