Damaging Winds Still Possible In Hudson Valley: UPDATE
The National Weather Service warms of downed trees and power outages.

The National Weather Service has downgraded its high wind watch for Saturday, but there still could be downed trees and power outages. Around 3 p.m. Friday, the NWS issued wind advisories for the Hudson Valley.
For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, the advisory is in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The forecast is now calling for winds 20 to 35 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Winds will be 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 50.

The NWS said there is still the possibility of down trees, tree limbs, power lines and poles, and there could be scattered to numerous power outages.

You'll be wanting to hold onto your hats and be prepared for possible power outages Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for all of the lower and mid-Hudson Valley in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The watch applies to Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster and Westchester counties.
Winds from the west 20 to 35 mph are forecast to contain gusts up to 60 mph Saturday afternoon into the early evening.
This will be while moderate to heavy rain is occurring.
The NWS said that the strong winds may potentially bring down trees, tree limbs, power lines and poles.
There could be scattered to numerous power outages.
