Deadly I-87 Crash In Woodbury Involved 2 Semi-Trucks, Van
A 2020 Nissan van rear-ended a bobtail 2016 Freightliner tractor slowed in traffic, which then hit a 1997 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

WOODBURY, NY — A pile-up on I-87 killed one person and sent another victim to the hospital.
New York State Police say that on Wednesday, around 12:30 p.m., a 2020 Nissan van was traveling north on I-87 at MPM 50.9, when it rear-ended a bobtail 2016 Freightliner tractor that was slowed in the right lane of traffic.
Police say the slow traffic was caused by an approaching work zone for line-stripping.

The crash pushed the tractor-trailer forward and into the back of a 1997 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they are not releasing the identity of the driver until family members are notified.

The driver of the 2016 Freightliner, 51-year-old Adam C. Rice, of Brick, New Jersey, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital - Newburgh by New Windsor EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the 1997 Freightliner, 66-year-old Jeffrey W. Clark, of Lecanto, Florida, was uninjured in the crash.
NYSP say that the investigation is continuing.
