Delaware Man Arrested After Fighting, Leaving Accident Scene
Sheriff's deputies also said the man was in possession of a controlled substance.

MARBLETOWN, NY — The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said a Delaware man was arrested after a hit-and-run accident was reported. Officials said Peter Buttacavoli, 46, of Dover, DE, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Shortly before 10 a.m. April 30, deputies responded to a location on Route 209 in the Town of Marbletown for a report of a hit-and-run property damage accident.
Buttacavoli, the driver who left the scene but returned, had a physical fight just prior to the accident with the other driver, police said.

During the dispute, deputies said property belonging to the other driver was damaged after he called 911 for assistance.
Buttacavoli was also found to be in possession of prescription medication outside an original container, deputies said.

He was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Marbletown Court for a later date.
