Domestic Dispute Report Leads To Kidnapping Accusation
Police said the man and his victim were familiar with each other.
HILLSDALE, NY — A Town of Copake man was accused of kidnapping someone after a domestic dispute. State police said Thomas P. Golden, 35, of Craryville, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.
Authorities said, around 9:30 p.m. July 8, troopers responded to a domestic dispute on Whippoorwill Road in the Town of Hillsdale.
An investigation found that Golden had used physical force, and threatened to use deadly force, to abduct the victim.

Both Golden and the victim were familiar with one another.
After several hours in captivity, the victim was able to get away to safety and contacted the state police.

Golden was found and taken into custody at an address located on Route 23 in the Town of Copake.
He was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
Golden was ordered to next appear in the Town of Hillsdale Court July 12.
