Dover Residents Face Criminal Charges After Domestic Dispute
One of the accused was allegedly in violation of an order of protection.

DOVER, NY — Two Dover residents were arrested following a domestic dispute. State Police said Renee L. Whiteman, 26, of Dover, was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, both misdemeanors. Thomas C. Brown, 33, of Dover, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony.
Police said, on Jan. 19, a domestic dispute was reported occurring at a residence on Crestwood Manor in the Town of Dover.
An investigation found that Whiteman strangled and punched the victim with a closed fist to the face, police said.

Whiteman and Brown were arraigned in the Town of Dover Court.
Whitema was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500 bail or $1,000 bond. Brown was sent to the jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
