Driver Dies In Crash At I-84 Rest Area In Orange County
Police said the man's car went off the roadway and into the rest area where he struck a parked tractor trailer.
WALLKILL, NY — One person was killed in a crash at a rest area on Interstate 84.
The New York State Police said troopers were sent to the Wallkill Rest Area on Interstate 84 around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.
A preliminary investigation found that Derrick N. Rosa, 26, of Cuddebackville, was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry west on I-84.

The Camry went off the road for unknown reasons and then entered the rest area, police said.
Once in the rest area, Rosa’s car struck a parked tractor trailer.

Montgomery EMS paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
