Drug Task Force Nabs Beacon Drug Dealer in Latest Sting: Dutchess DA

He was found to be in possession of over 16 ounces of cocaine, fentanyl, and ecstasy, along with an illegal "ghost" handgun.

BEACON, NY — An elite task force has scored another big win, according to officials.

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force said that an investigation into the sale of fentanyl and cocaine in Beacon resulted in the identification of 37-year-old George Cintron, who sold fentanyl to Drug Task Force agents.

When the investigation was completed, a search warrant was obtained by the Drug Task Force to search Cintron's residence, located in Beacon.

On October 17, Drug Task Force agents and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit took Cintron into custody on Beekman Street, and then executed the search warrant at his home nearby.

He was found to be in possession of over 16 ounces of cocaine, fentanyl, and ecstasy, along with an illegal "ghost" handgun.

Cintron was charged with felony first degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony third degree criminal possession of a firearm.

He was held at the City of Beacon Police Department pending his arraignment scheduled for October 18.

The Drug Task Force was assisted by the City of Beacon Police Department in this investigation.

The Drug Task Force says it is aggressively pursuing narcotic and dangerous drug dealers throughout the county to prevent the distribution in communities.
