POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A high-pressure system flowing down from Canada is to be thanked for lower temps and lower humidity Monday and Tuesday. But.

Late Tuesday into Wednesday, expect more humid conditions and a steadily increasing chance of rain. Plus higher temps, more humidity, and possible thunderstorms will be possible as well.

• Monday: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Light southeast wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Monday Night: Isolated showers before 11pm. Patchy fog before 3am, then patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: Showers likely, then occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Low around 70. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely before noon, then scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
