Durham Fire Leaves 5 Dead, 1 Critically Hurt
BREAKING: A family member identified the victims as two grandparents and three of their grandchildren. The children were all under age 12.

EAST DURHAM, NY — A building fire in Durham has left five people dead and one critically hurt, state police said. Firefighters were called to 2753 state Route 145 in East Durham around 6:30 a.m., investigators told media outlets.
The blaze was out by 12:20 p.m., news outlets reported. Police didn't identify the victims on Monday afternoon, but Nicholas and Mary Mammano were listed as the owners of the home, Hudson Valley 360 reported, citing Greene County property records.
A family member told the Albany Times-Union that three children and two adults were the victims, including the Mammanos. The newspaper said the children killed in the blaze were the Mammano's grandchildren. All were under age 12.

The newspaper also said the children's father, John Mammano, was hospitalized in critical condition at the Clark Burn Center in Syracuse.
The exact cause of deaths will be determined by autopsies.
