Dutchess Man Accused Of Road Rage With BB Gun

Police said the incident happened near the roundabout intersection east of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.

GREENPORT, NY — An accusation of road rage led to the arrest of a Dutchess County man. State police said Paul A. Artis, 31, of Tivoli, was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Police said, around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, troopers went to Route 9G for a report of road rage involving a handgun near the roundabout intersection east of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.

Authorities said Artis engaged in a road rage incident with another vehicle. He menaced the occupants of the vehicle with a BB gun, police said.

Artis was arraigned virtually before the Town of Livingston Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Greenport Court Sept. 21.
