Dutchess Man Faces Rape Charges: State Police

Police said the victim knew the accused man.

AMENIA, NY — State Police arrested a Dutchess County man Jan. 19 on charges that he forced someone to have sex. Cresson T. Horton, 34, of Amenia, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act, both felonies.

Troopers received a complaint from a victim of rape. Investigators found that Horton forced the victim to perform sexual acts.

The victim was familiar with Horton, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Amenia Court and was sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

A judge granted the victim a full order of protection.
