Dutchess Man Killed In Car By Falling Tree During Storm
Police said the man was a passenger in the car on the Taconic State Parkway.
EAST FISHKILL, NY — A Dutchess County man was killed when a tree fell on a car he was in during a violent thunderstorm Thursday. The New York State Police said Willie J. Dinkins, 73 of Pleasant Valley, was a passenger in the front seat of a 2019 Toyota Rav4 that was traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of East Fishkill.
Around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, troopers said a tree fell on the vehicle because of storm activity.
Dinkins was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

State police said the investigation remains ongoing.
