Dutchess Priest Removed from Parishes Over Molestation Allegation

A 43-year-old man told police he was molested in the late 1980s.

PAWLING, NY — A priest with two Dutchess County parishes has been accused of molesting a 15-year-old in the late 1980s.

Father Anthony Giuliano, who once said homosexuals had to be celibate to be good Catholics, was running parishes in Pawling and Dover Plains, the New York Daily News said, when police were told August 16 that he had molested a now-43-year-old man at a Bronx church.

Law enforcement officials said the claim is credible, and Giuliano was removed from the parishes by the Archdiocese of New York.
