Dutchess Woman Accused Of Drunken Driving With Child In Car

Police said the woman crashed into an ambulance in the town of Wappinger.

WAPPINGER, NY — A Dutchess County woman was accused of drunken driving with a child in the car after a crash involving an ambulance.

The New York State Police said Constance A. Guy, 38, of Wappinger, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, Leandra's Law, a felony.

Police said troopers were sent shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday to Route 9 and MacFarlane Road in the town of Wappinger for a crash involving an ambulance.

Investigators said they found that Guy, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, made a left-hand turn onto Route 9 and struck a northbound EMStar ambulance.

The woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol and had a child in the vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported at the scene, according to authorities.

Guy was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wappinger Court Jan. 4.
