He was initially stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law

EAST FISHKILL, NY — State police arrested a man for drunken driving who had been previously charged and convicted of DWI, not one, but two times. Eric W. Johnson, 52, of East Fishkill, was charged with driving while intoxicated with two prior convictions and first-degree aggravated licensed operation, both felonies.
Around 7:55 p.m. July 16, troopers conducted a stop on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Mount Pleasant.
