Extension Of Liquor Store Hours OK'd In Dutchess
Stores will still be closed on Christmas Day.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — The state Liquor Authority's board last week OK'd a two-hour extension to liquor and wine stores' operating hours in Dutchess County. Effective immediately, the stores can stay open until 9 p.m. every day of the week.
Board Chairman Vincent Bradley said several hundred written statements of support for the time change were received from the public, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
According to the state Liquor Authority website, liquor and wine may be sold for off-premises consumption during the following hours in Dutchess County:

- Weekdays: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon to 9 p.m.
- Christmas Day: Closed
Dutchess County legislators voted to override County Executive Marc Molinaro's veto of a resolution extending the hours by a 19 to 5 vote in May.
