Faso To Vote For American Health Care Act
The legislation would replace President Obama's Affordable Care Act.

KINGSTON, NY — If you were wondering how Rep. John Faso, R-Kinderhook, was going to vote on the revised American Health Care Act, your wait is over. The congressman issued an extremely brief statement Thursday morning.
“After careful review of the changes to the American Health Care Act, I believe that this legislation addresses my concerns and I will support the AHCA as amended,” his statement read.
Faso is the congressman for the 19th Congressional District.

The AHCA — a Republican alternative to the Affordable Care Act — is expected to come to a floor vote sometime Thursday.
The first version didn’t come to a vote. The latest version apparently has two key amendments that the majority leadership is hoping will pass muster with moderates and the Freedom Caucus.

The MacArthur Amendment allows states to opt out of some of the ACA’s provisions, such as providing coverage for a basic set of health care needs.
The Upton Amendment has the government providing $8 billion over five years for high-risk pools.
Congressional District 19 is comprised of Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties and portions of Broome, Dutchess and Rensselaer counties.
