Fatal 2-Car Crash Under Investigation In Hudson Valley
Police said that one car crossed over the double yellow line.

HILLSDALE, NY — State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on Route 22 in the Town of Hillsdale. Troopers were sent around 1:10 p.m. Saturday, April 7 to Route 22 near Sawyer Road in the Town of Hillsdale for a report of motor vehicle crash with someone trapped inside.
Police found that the vehicle, which was operated by 69-year-old Gus Segschneider of Hillsdale was traveling northbound on Route 22.
A second car, driven by a 75-year-old woman from Great Barrington, MA, crossed over the double yellow line.

Her vehicle struck the one driven by Segschneider.
His passenger — Donna Segschneider, 63, of Hillsdale — was pronounced dead at the scene

Gus Segschneider was taken to the Hillsdale Fire Station and then airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
State Police were assisted on scene by Austelitz Fire Department, Hillsdale Fire Department, Greenport Fire Department, Community Rescue and Life Net.
