FedEx Driver Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teens

Police said he would pick them up while on the job and give them marijuana before abusing them.

MILLBROOK, NY — A FedEx driver from Poughkeepsie has been accused of picking up a couple of teens while on the job and sexually abusing them.

The New York State Police said Joshua J. Ginyard, 30, of Poughkeepsie, was charged Monday with multiple counts of sexually abusing minors.

Authorities said troopers received information Aug.15 about a local FedEx driver who had sexually abused several teens under the age of 17.

An investigation found that Ginyard would pick up the teens while driving a FedEx truck during the course of his workday, police said. He would then take them to a remote location in the town of Washington where he gave them marijuana.

While inside the truck, police said, Ginyard had sexual intercourse and oral sex with one of the teens on two separate occasions. Additionally, he forcibly touched another teen while in the truck.

With the assistance of Troop K Computer Crimes Unit and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center, Ginyard was arrested Aug. 17 and charged with two counts of disseminating indecent materials to a minor, felonies, for sending sexually explicit text messages to the teens.

He was arraigned in the Town of Washington Court and released on his own recognizance.

On Monday, following an additional investigation, Ginyard was charged with two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, felonies, and forcible touching, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in the Town of Washington Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

Ginyard is due to appear again in the Town of Washington Court at a later date and time. Additional charges are pending, police said.
