First Friday Canceled In Poughkeepsie Due To Weather

The outdoor event was called off because of the predicted stormy weather.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The First Friday event and the fireworks display in the City of Poughkeepsie has been canceled for tonight, Aug. 3 due to predicted inclement weather. The event was to have taken place at the waterfront in Waryas Park.

Organizers suggest that, instead, people visit their favorite bar or restaurant to celebrate First Friday with house food and beverage specials.

The next First Friday is scheduled for Sept. 7.
