Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Mid-Hudson

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service in Albany has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Dutchess County and Ulster County.

It is in effect until 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

At 2:16 p.m. Wednesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional heavy rainfall will persist through this afternoon and into this evening.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include Torrington, Poughkeepsie, New Milford, Kingston, Beacon, New Paltz, Ellenville, Rhinebeck, Pawling, Wallkill, Hyde Park, Milton, Plattekill, Pleasant Valley, Thomaston, New Hartford, Hurley, Wappingers Falls, Amenia and Kent.

The weather service said to turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
