Former Bookkeeper Under Investigation for Stealing Washington Town Funds
The town supervisor confirmed the allegation.
MILLBROOK, NY — The Town of Washington’s former bookkeeper and supervisor’s secretary is under investigation for stealing town funds, according to police and municipal sources.
The lawyer for Laura Hurley, who is also the mayor of Millbrook, said Hurley accidentally paid a personal bill using a municipal account, an article in the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
