Former Corrections Officer Indicted On Rape Charges

MONTICELLO, NY — A former corrections officer has been indicted on 16 counts after being accused of raping an inmate. Teeka Perkins, 44, of Monticello, was accused of engaging in various sex acts with a Woodbourne Correctional Facility inmate.

A Sullivan County grand jury brought seven counts of third-degree rape and one count of third-degree criminal sexual act, all felonies, against Perkins, spectrumlocalnews said. There were also eight misdemeanor counts of official misconduct.

She had resigned and was arrested before the indictment.

Woodbourne Correctional Facility is located in Woodbourne, Sullivan County. It is a medium security men's prison operated by the state.

According to New York law, a person is incapable of consent when he or she is committed to the custody or supervision of the state department of corrections.
