Former Dutchess Legislator Sentenced for Child Sex Abuse

He was found guilty in May of abusing two Boy Scouts.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A former Dutchess County legislator was sentenced to seven years in prison for two felony sexual abuse charges involving two Boy Scouts.

Michael Kelsey, 38, was found guilty in May in St. Lawrence County of sexually abusing two 15-year-old boys in 2014, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

The former assistant scoutmaster was also sentenced to 10 years post-release supervision.
