Former Poughkeepsie-Area Coach Named Giants GM

Jerry Reese, who was fired earlier in December, is being replaced.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A former Spackenkill High School coach has been named by the New York Giants to be their general manager Thursday. Dave Gettleman, 66, started the football program at Spackenkill in 1973.

He is replacing Jerry Reese, who was fired Dec. 4 from the Giants organization, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
