UPDATE: Derailed Freight Train In New Windsor Was Carrying Sulfuric Acid
Two crew members were taken to the hospital.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — The CSX freight train that derailed near the New Windsor-Newburgh border Tuesday afternoon had cargo that included sulfuric acid.
A preliminary investigation found the train, which was comprised of 77 cars, hit a telescopic boom whip resulting in the derailing of three locomotives and 14 cars, the Times Herald-Record said.
Two CSX crew members were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — A freight train has gone off the tracks in New Windsor.
FIOS1 News is reporting that the CSX train derailed at River Road and Water Street Tuesday afternoon.
There may also be a fuel leak and multiple injuries.
The state Department of Transportation said that, because of the derailment, Route 9W between Old Route 9W and Walsh Avenue is closed.
