Friends of Poughkeepsie Library District's Annual Meeting to Feature Talk on Its History
The meeting will wrap up the 40th anniversary of the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the Greene Meeting Rooms of the Boardman Road Branch Library, 141 Boardman Road, Poughkeepsie. The meeting is free and open to the public.
There will be a brief business meeting at 6 p.m., organizers said, followed by a refreshment break that will be catered by the Dutchess County BOCES Culinary Arts class.
At 7 p.m. there will be a presentation by author and local history expert Anthony Musso, about the history and progress of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District and the Friends of the Library group.

Musso was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has resided in the Hudson Valley for the past 30 years. He had a 38-year career with the United States Post Office as writer/editor and media spokesperson, including, among various duties, serving as editor of an 85,000 circulation monthly magazine.
Musso is the author of seven books, including "FDR and The Post Office, Vols. 1 and 2," "Setting The Record Straight, Vols. 1 and 2" and "Hidden Treasurers of the Hudson Valley, Vols. 1 and 2." Copies of his books will be available for purchase and signing.

This special event wraps up the 40th anniversary year of the Friends of PPLD, which is an all volunteer organization that supports the district's programs and services.
