Graswald To Be Sentenced Wednesday In Death Of Fiancé

She admitted her guilt in July.

GOSHEN, NY — Angelika Graswald is set to be sentenced for the death of her fiancé in 2015 on the Hudson River. Graswald will appear in court at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Orange County.

Her lawyer said she will be sentenced for a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide, a felony, the Daily Voice said.

Graswald made the agreement with the Orange County District Attorney in July.

She admitted in court that she caused the drowning death of Vincent Viafore while they were kayaking on the Hudson April 19, 2015, by removing the plug from his kayak.

Graswald also admitted she was aware the locking clip to his paddle was missing and that he was not wearing a life vest or a wet suit.
