Heavy Rain Emerges In Hudson Valley Forecast: Here's When, What To Know

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Heavy rain, possible thunderstorms and wind are in the forecast for early next week, according to meteorologists.
In the short term, today through Sunday will be mostly dry, aside from a chance for scattered rain and snow showers Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Daytime high temperatures today and throughout the weekend will be in the 40s.

The next chance for significant stormy weather is late Sunday into Monday.
Rain is expected to start Sunday night, and it “could be heavy at times,” according to the National Weather Service.

The rain will continue throughout the day on Monday, when the chance of precipitation is 100 percent, forecasters said. Heavy rainfall, windy conditions, and even thunderstorms are possible on Monday and into Monday night, the National Weather Service said. The rain is expected to taper off early Tuesday, then it will become partly sunny.
Here are the forecast details for the lower Hudson Valley area via the National Weather Service:
Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 45. South wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Tonight: A 20 percent chance of rain before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 38. South wind 11 to 14 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 49. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 24 mph.
Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
Sunday Night: Rain, mainly after 11 p.m. The rain could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to near 42 by 9 p.m, then rising to around 48 during the remainder of the night. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Rain, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 60. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Monday Night: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 38. Windy. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of rain before 8 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Breezy.

Today: A slight chance of snow showers before 3 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., then a slight chance of rain showers after 5 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 42. South wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Tonight: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10 p.m., then a chance of rain showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 34. South wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. West wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 27. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
