Heavy Rain Possible, Flash Flood Watch For Northern Mid-Hudson
Dutchess, Ulster and Columbia counties could see a lot more rain, leading to possible flooding.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Parts of the mid-Hudson Valley could see severe thunderstorms Saturday.
The National Weather Service said the main threat from the thunderstorms is expected to be damaging wind gusts of 58 mph or greater.
Additionally, a flash flood watch is in effect for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

The watch is in effect from noon Saturday through noon Sunday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will spread through the area Saturday afternoon before changing into a widespread soaking rainfall late in the afternoon into Saturday night.

Rainfall rates will be capable of exceeding 1 inch per hour at times, especially during thunderstorms.
Total rainfall amounts could be between 1 and 3 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Areas that received heavy rainfall recently will be more vulnerable to flooding.
