Here's The Best Sandwich Spot In New York: Report

Two of the Friday specials of what Buzzfeed thinks is the best sandwich spot in New York are 1) pastrami on marble rye with Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard and 2) fried fish or crab cake po' boy panini on herbed focaccia with cajun tartar sauce and slaw.

BuzzFeed and Yelp did the heavy lifting to come up with their list called "Here Are The Best Sandwich Spots In Every State, According To Yelp."

"There are tons of places you can go to fulfill your sandwich craving when it hits, but sometimes (ALL the time), you just want the best of the best," BuzzFeed Staffer Samantha Wieder wrote.

For New York, it was clear where the best sandwich could be ordered: Rosticceria Rossi & Sons LLC, which is within walking distance of the Metro-North Train Station in Poughkeepsie.

"Jerry C." wrote on Yelp that if one has been looking for an amazing sandwich place they would have found it at Rossi's.

"Rossi's is so good, it genuinely makes you smile and happy while you're eating your sandwich," he wrote.

"Joanna R." of Portland, Maine, said she ordered three sandwiches to share among four people, "and we had so much leftover! Wow, they're huge sandwiches. And SOOOOOO flavorful and delicious."

Commenter after commenter said that one should be prepared to wait because the place is so popular.

"Kristina S. from Boston, Massachusetts" said, "Place was packed at 4 p.m. on a Saturday but definitely worth the wait."

According to Rossi's website, there is a menu of favorite paninis which can be ordered on small or large focaccia bread and specials which change every day. You can also "build your own sandwich," choosing the type of bread, meats, cheeses, toppings and condiments.

They are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Rossi's is closed on Sundays.
