Hudson Valley Doctor Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash
The head-on crash happened Sunday afternoon on Route 32 in the town of Cornwall.
CORNWALL, NY — A Hudson Valley physician was killed Sunday in a head-on hit-and-run crash in the town of Cornwall.
The New York State Police said the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. Sunday on Route 32 in Cornwall.
The investigation found Dr. John C. Hordines Jr., 54, of New Windsor, was driving a 2010 Chevy Tahoe south when a 2013 Honda Accord traveling north crossed over into the southbound lane and struck his car head on.

Hordines was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Crystal Run Healthcare posted on Facebook that Hordines was a "respected member of the Crystal Run family and Montefiore St. Luke's Hospital medical staff, and served our community for many years.
"Our prayers are with his family at this most difficult time," the post said. "He will be sorely missed."
Hordines was board certified in surgery and vascular surgery. His specialty was general surgery.
