Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Assaulting His Child: Police
Police said the child was hospitalized with injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

OLIVE, NY — A 7-month-old Ulster County child is in serious condition after undergoing surgery for injuries consistent with what police said was shaken baby syndrome. State police said they were called May 1 to a Town of Olive residence after a 911 call placed by Ernest G. Williams III, 19, of Olive. He had called to report his 7-month-old child was semi-conscious.
The child, who was in the care of Williams, was taken by ambulance to Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston and later flown to Westchester Medical Center.
Williams was arrested May 2 and was charged with second-degree assault, a felony.

He was arraigned in the Town of Olive Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
