Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Raping 2 Teen Girls
Authorities said he offered them vape pens prior to sexually assaulting them.

NEW PALTZ, NY — A mid-Hudson Valley man was accused of raping two teenage girls in New Paltz.
The New Paltz Police Department said Jeffrey Arenas, 22, of Wallkill, was charged Aug. 5 with second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual assault, felonies.
Police said, on June 15, the New Paltz police detective division was notified that two minor females had been sexually assaulted by the same man.

The two girls, one 13 years old and the other 14, told a school employee who then contacted the New Paltz police.
Following a two-month investigation, police said there was probable cause to charge Arenas with both incidents.

It was found that Arenas had befriended the teens by providing them with vape pens, police said
He was taken into custody Aug. 5 by New Paltz detectives.
Arenas was processed at the New Paltz Police Department and arraigned in the Plattekill Town Court.
He was sent to the Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail, $100,000 bond or $200,000 insurance bond.
Arenas was scheduled to appear to the Town of New Paltz Court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
