Hudson Valley Man Arrested On Child Exploitation Charges After Months-long, Multi-Agency Investigation: NYSP
The 47-year-old Orange County man had images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children, according to state police.

NEW WINDSOR, NY —The New York State Police say that 47-year-old David Mejia Sr., of New Windsor, was arrested on Friday, on charges related to child sexual exploitation.
He was charged with felony promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of ages; and felony possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 16 years of age (possess or access).
State police say the arrest stems from an investigation that began in July of last year. It was a collaboration between the Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit, the Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team, the Troop F Major Crimes Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at Montgomery, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation found that Mejia Sr. was in possession of images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children. A search warrant was then obtained and executed at Mejia Sr.'s residence in New Windsor last month.
Mejia Sr. was arraigned on Saturday, in the City of Newburgh Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Windsor Court on February 10.
