Hudson Valley Man Dies After Snowmobile Accident On Reservoir
State police said the snowmobile he was riding fell through the ice at Goshen Reservoir.
GOSHEN, NY — An Orange County man died as a result of a snowmobile accident Monday during the nor'easter snowstorm.
The New York State Police said Richard Stetson, 55, and Arne Jensen, 56, both of Goshen, were on a snowmobile on the reservoir around 5:30 p.m. Monday when the sled they were riding broke through the ice and became submerged in the water.
Troopers who responded to the accident found Stetson in the woods. His condition was assessed with the help of EMS personnel and was taken to an ambulance.

Authorities said Stetson was able to get out of the water, climb onto the ice and call for help.
The Minisink Hook and Ladder Company cold-water rescue technicians went into the reservoir and found Jensen.

He was removed from the water and treated by the Goshen Fire Department and EMS.
Jensen was taken by Troop F snowmobile unit to an ambulance.
He was taken to Garnet Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
