Hudson Valley Man Killed in LIE Crash
A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday afternoon.

MAYBROOK, NY — Police have identified the man killed in a crash on the Long Island Expressway Tuesday afternoon. According to police, 28-year-old John Palmer of Maybrook, Orange County, was driving a 2014 Freightliner Truck westbound when it collided with a 2006 Kia Sportage near Exit 60 in Lake Ronkonkoma. Palmer's truck then veered off the road and stuck the Ronkonkoma Avenue overpass at about 12:15 p.m.
Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The driver of the Kia, a 30-year-old Holtsville man, was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
