Hudson Valley Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident
Police said he failed to negotiate a curve, ended up in the oncoming lane and was struck by a county-owned vehicle.

WALLKILL, NY — A Goshen man was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle accident in the Town of Wallkill. State police were called around 5:35 p.m. to a reported car and motorcycle accident on Crystal Run Road. The preliminary investigation found that the motorcycle, operated by Bert Wolvers, 59, of Goshen, was traveling east on Crystal Run Road when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and went into the westbound lane.
The motorcycle was struck head-on by an oncoming vehicle, causing Wolvers to be ejected.
He was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center with a serious head injury and was pronounced dead by the emergency room staff.

The vehicle, owned by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, was being driven by Christopher Borek, an assistant district attorney.
He was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center with pain in the back and shoulder.

Police said that, at this time, there is nothing to indicate that any criminal activity occurred and speed does not appear to have been a factor.
The State Police Reconstruction Unit is assisting, and the investigation is ongoing.
