Lottery officials said the man bought the winning ticket when he stopped randomly to buy a soda.

WOODSTOCK, NY — A random stop for a soda means an Ulster County man will become the latest New York Lottery millionaire. The lottery’s Yolanda Vega will present the Woodstock resident with a $1 million check Thursday.

The presentation will take place at the Stewarts Shops in Kingston at 11 a.m. Aug. 9 at the store located at 268 Broadway.
