Update: Body Found In Woods By Hunters ID'd As Missing Autistic Man
The cause of death is under investigation, but there is no indication of foul play, according to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner.
HYDE PARK, NY — The Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the body found in the woods in Hyde Park.
Christopher Imperatore, 31, from the Town of Hyde Park was identified through dental records. Imperatore was last seen on August 27, and reported missing on August 31. Imperatore was known to leave his home regularly to spend long stretches of time in the woods, according to police.
“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Christopher," Hyde Park Police officials said in a statement released Thursday evening. "We would like to thank all those who assisted in search efforts and are saddened by the outcome.”

The Town of Hyde Park Police Department confirmed last night that they received a call from two hunters who were in the woods off Route 9g on Tuesday, shortly before 4 p.m. The hunters reported finding a body in the woods. Police responded with the New York State Police Forensic Intelligence Unit (FIU) and preserved the scene.
