Interstate 84 Ramp Closures Expected

Lane closures will turn into complete closures overnight.

BEACON, NY — Motorists are advised that the Interstate 84 entrance and exit ramps for Exit 11 (Route 9D) in the city of Beacon, Dutchess County, are expected to close, while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting. On Friday, May 11, and Monday, May 14, Exit 11 from Interstate 84 (both east and west) to Route 9D is expected to be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is then expected to be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On Tuesday, May 15, and Wednesday, May 16, the Exit 11 on ramp to Interstate 84 (both east and west) from Route 9D is expected to be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is then expected to be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Flaggers are expected to be on site for traffic control, and motorists are advised to use the posted detour.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
