K-9 Scout, Partner To Sgt. Campbell, Dies At 10 [PHOTOS]
Police said Scout made friends with thousands of children while doing K-9 demonstrations.

ORANGE COUNTY, NY — The Orange County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of it canine partners. The Orange County K-9 Association said, on Dec. 14, that K-9 Scout, partner and protector to his handler and trainer Sergeant Dave Campbell.
Scout, a German shepherd, was born Aug. 8, 2008, and was one of 13 pups in the litter.
At eight weeks, he was selected to enter the police K-9 world.

Scout placed fourth at the National Explosives Detector Trials in Minnesota at 18 months of age.
He performed hundreds of searches for suspicious items and tracked suspects that fled crime scenes.
