Kingston Man Faces Weapons, Drug Charges In Ulster County

He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail.

KINGSTON, NY — A Kingston man was arrested Aug. 24 on felony weapons charges. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Anthony Isaac, 28, of Kingston, was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanors, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and several traffic infractions.

The sheriff’s office said that around 6 pm. Aug. 24 deputies stopped Isaac’s vehicle for a traffic infraction.

He was detained for operating with a suspended license and being in possession of a quantity of marijuana.

Deputies said a search of the vehicle found a loaded pistol.

Isaac is on parole for a similar offense and is legally prohibited from possessing weapons as a convicted felon, authorities said. A parole violation was also filed as a result of this arrest.

Isaac was arraigned in the Town of Esopus Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond to reappear in the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
