Kiryas Joel To Build Water Treatment Plant In Woodbury
The water will come from New York City's Catskill Aqueduct, officials said.
KIRYAS JOEL, NY — A water filtration plant in Woodbury is being planned to treat up to 2 million gallons of water a day for the village of Kiryas Joel.
A 13.5-mile pipeline will, once finished, tap New York City's Catskill Aqueduct and deliver the water to Kiryas Joel's treatment plant, the Times Herald-Record reported.
So far more than 6 miles of pipeline has been buried for the $65 million project that began in 2013.
