LI Man ID'd As Pilot In Fatal Helicopter Crash
Authorities said he was the pilot and sole occupant of the helicopter that went down in the Hudson Valley.
CORNWALL, NY — The New York State Police have identified the pilot who died Sunday in a helicopter crash in Orange County.
Arthur Charych, 73, of Setauket, Suffolk County, was the pilot and sole occupant of the helicopter that crashed in the town of Cornwall.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The helicopter he was operating was a 2007 Robinson R44 Rotocraft.
Police said the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. Sunday near Storm King Mountain near Route 218.
