HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Warmer weather is coming to the Hudson Valley region in the week ahead, according to meteorologists.

The National Weather Service in New York reports sunshine this afternoon with highs reaching the low 70s in the mid-Hudson Valley, and highs in the 60s in southern areas.

There is a chance for rain showers tonight, and then the weekend will be dry, with daytime temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s, its meteorologists predict.

“A more noticeable warmup then begins on Monday with well-above normal high temperatures through late in the week,” the National Weather Service said.

Monday’s daytime highs will reach into the 70s, followed by highs around 80 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the upper 70s on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The average high for April in the area is about 68 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
