Man Breaks Into Home, Sexually Assaults Victim: NYSP
Police said the man got into the house through a window.

AMENIA, NY — A Dutchess County man was accused of breaking into a house and sexually assaulting someone.
The New York State Police said Thomas E. Ryan, 54, of LaGrange, was charged Thursday with first-degree criminal sex act, second-degree burglary and first-degree sexual abuse, all felonies.
Troopers were sent shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday to an Amenia house for a report of a burglary in progress.

An investigation determined Ryan illegally entered the house through a window and sexually assaulted the victim.
He was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

Ryan is next scheduled to appear in the Town of Amenia Court Dec. 8.
